TAU 1 is a popular variety of black gram, also known as udid, that is well adapted to both rainy and post-rainy seasons. It has oval-shaped grains that are purplish black in color and are moderately resistant to powdery mildew.
TAU 1 is one of the highest yielding varieties, with about 700-900 kg per acre.
The seeds contain a high content of carbohydrates, protein, minerals, fat, vitamins, potassium, niacin, calcium, iron, riboflavin, thiamine, and amino acids.
